Another 'blip' with blogger.....or is it just me????? :-)

When published, everything seemed to be in order but when viewing Monday's Wareham trip seems to be last rather than in the middle????

Oh well, bear with me, it's all there and I don't suppose it really matters what order it's in?!?!?!
July 2010 - Brixham (Friday)

After a lovely lunch sat outside a little cafe/bistro, overlooking the harbour, we spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the harbour area.  There were so many different boats to be seen, including cruisers, ferries, rowing boats, a replica of the Golden Hind and Brixham's large commercial fishing fleet.

Later that afternoon we caught the bus back up to the campsite and spent the evening relaxing on site.

Considering what had been forecast for us that week we were incredibly lucky with the weather.  We had had some rain but mostly overnight.  The only daytime rain we experienced was late afternoon/early evening on Thursday and we were using the site facilities (the bar!) at the time!!!!

Another great week away.  Wish we could do it every month - how greedy is that?!

Next trip is Dartmoor in August for a long weekend, so that's when the next update will be.

July 2010 - Brixham (Friday)

Our last day, Friday, so we caught the bus down into Brixham for the day.  Our first wander was around to the marina and towards the breakwater and lighthouse.

There were views of Berry Head from Breakwater Beach and further views across the bay to Paignton and Torquay from the lighthouse end of the breakwater.

July 2010 - Hillhead CC site, near Brixham (Thursday)

After 2 days at East Fleet Farm it was time to pack up and head for our last campsite, Hillhead CC site near Brixham.  What a gorgeous site.  It's not everyones taste and it wouldn't be ours during the high season in all honesty but CC standard with a few added extras suited us for 2 nights.  We chose a lovely hedged off hardstanding pitch with a sea view and spent the afternoon on site.  The on site dog walk had some great views of the coast with Paignton and Torquay beyond!
July 2010 - Weymouth (Wednesday)

The campsite run a campers bus everyday, which picks you up from the shop/reception on site and drops you off at the seafront in Weymouth.  The return journey is at 4:30pm.  Out of season, it's free to campers (what a great service eh?) and dogs are allowed on the bus, so we used the service on the Wednesday and spent the day in Weymouth, wandering the harbour area, Nothe Fort, the town and the seafront.  We had lunch sat outside a pub overlooking the harbour, and although it was a very overcast day it was warm and more importantly dry.
July 2010 - East Fleet Farm, Weymouth (Tuesday)

On Tuesday morning it was time to pack up and leave the fantastic C&CC site at Corfe (highly recommended) and head back along the Dorset coast to our next site, East Fleet Farm, which is situated on the Fleet Lagoon just outside Weymouth.

On arrival we pitched up and walked Paddy along a small part of the lagoon to the 'lost' church before heading back and spending the rest of the day on site and enjoying the hospitality on offer in the on-site bar and restaurant!
July 2010 - Corfe village (Monday)

After catching the bus back to Corfe from Wareham we spent the afternoon in the village, finishing up with a pint sat in the beer garden of the Greyhound Inn, overlooking the castle ruins.  It must have some of the best views of any beer garden.

July 2010 - Swanage (Sunday)

After meeting up with some friends and having a lovely lunch sat outside the White Swan Inn we wandered back around to the beach area, where by this time it was packed.  Swanage is a very traditional seaside town - they even have Punch & Judy on the beach for the kids (now that takes me back!).

After our afternoon stroll by the beach, complete with ice cream (!), we caught the steam train back to Corfe and spent the evening chilling out on site.
