A Wet Summer - Slimbridge

Another month, another trip.

After a very wet June, we were hoping (and sometimes praying!) for a nice July.  Sadly we didn't get our wish, but I guess that's the joys of holidaying in the UK, you never know what you're going to get and when!!

Our first 2 nights were spent at Tudor Caravan Park at Slimbridge on the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal.  When we left home it was dry (not sunny, but dry!), on heading north and approaching the Bristol area it started tipping down and that's what it did for most of that day (Friday).

We did manage a wander, when there was a very short break in the rain, up along the towpath, before spending the rest of the evening with friends who were staying in the pub next door to the campsite.
