Canals & Cotswolds July 2014 - Caen Hill Locks, Devizes

On Thursday morning we awoke to glorious blue skies and sunshine again so after a decent breakfast we set up the bikes and biked in the opposite direction to the stunning Caen Hill Locks...29 locks in all and all busy with people spending 4 - 5 hours to reach the top lock!   The tow path was busy with bikers, walkers, dogs and people generally enjoying the sunshine.

On reaching the locks, we biked a bit further into Devizes, famous for its Wadworth Brewery.  It was market day so very busy and far too hot for me.  We had a short walk around and came back out and had lunch in the tea room that sits overlooking the top of the locks.

That evening friends from Newbury visited us on site and we sat outside eating fish and chips with them!
