Christmas in Poole 2015

For Christmas this year we decided to have a change of destination.  Instead of our regular pitch in St Ives we had booked a pitch at South Lytchett Manor, just outside Poole.

We travelled from home through the rain but arrived on site in the sunshine (always a good start).  We enjoyed mince pies and hot mulled wine supplied by the site in the afternoon and a lovely meal in the local pub with our friends on Christmas Eve.  On Christmas Day we cooked a full turkey roast with all the trimmings in the camper and spent the whole day just chilling out (with the rain hammering down on Bessy's roof!).

Boxing Day was dry but overcast so we togged up and walked into Poole via Upton Country Park and Holes Bay to meet up with our friends where we had fish and chips for lunch in a pub along the quay.

The Sunday was dry again so we walked back down to the country park where we met up with our friends again for a coffee and a walk around the park and along the bay.  They then drove us to another local pub for a cracking roast lunch, before taking us for a quick tour around Poole and Sandbanks.  It seems all we did was eat and drink over Christmas, but isn't that what it's all about?!

Due to the inclement weather (and boy was it windy during most nights!) I didn't take a great deal of photos but here's a selection.

Looks and sounds like you had a good Christmas Sharon, the turkey looks good and I love the little figures with Christmas hats on.

I had rather an unusual though nice Christmas but a New Year tinged with sadness - hop over to my blog when you get a minute and you'll see why.
