Cornwall - May 2017 - Porth & Newquay

Again we had not booked the next (and last) 2 nights but knew we wanted to head towards home so decided to try one of our very regular sites, Porth Beach near Newquay.  They had a C&CC rally on but still had plenty of room and we chose a large grass pitch that backed onto the river.  The weather (as it always seems to be in Newquay!) was fantastic.  Warm, dry and sunny for both days, although someone not too far away was getting a soaking!

We walked into Newquay both days, via the beach and coastal path the first day and round by the boating lake and gardens the second day.  We had a picnic lunch sat overlooking Newquay harbour on the Friday, whilst being watched by the local seagulls!

Our friends arrived on site on Friday so we spent the evening with them at the pub on the beach (the Mermaid) before heading home on Saturday morning.

Yes, the weather was a bit hit and miss but it never stopped us doing what we had planned.

Another great trip and another one coming up in the not too distant future!
