Lydford on Dartmoor - June 2013 - Lydford Gorge (NT)

Our mission this year is to get away as often as possible, every other weekend if we can.  So, just 2 weeks after our 10 days in Wales we headed onto Dartmoor to the pretty village of Lydford for a long weekend.

We couldn't have been luckier with the weather again.

We arrived on site early afternoon, had lunch and chilled out for a few hours before wandering down to Lydford Gorge.  Being National Trust members, we'd visited back in the winter but due to the heavy rain and floods parts of the gorge were 'shut off'.  This time we visited the Devils Cauldron part of the gorge, with a beautiful walk along the river.  Mike was brave enough to walk down right into the 'Cauldron' but I stayed on level ground with my camera!!!

Whilst down in the gorge it started to rain and for 20 minutes it was torrential.  We got drenched but laughed all the way back to the campsite because it's all part of the fun!!!
