On Christmas Eve we packed up and headed south to our now annual Christmas 'home' at Ayr Holiday Park, St Ives. It's not the cheapest site, in fact it's the most expensive one we use all year, but we love it and have already booked our favourite pitch for Christmas 2018!
We had friends also staying on site so enjoyed 4 days of fun filled festive activities, which mainly involved eating and drinking! It was probably the wettest Christmas we'd had in St Ives over the last 8 years and definitely the windiest. At one point on Boxing Day evening I actually thought we were going to be blown over!!! Mike just said "it's all part of the adventure!!!!"
We walked down into town on Christmas Eve for a few (!) drinks and a meal with our friends and all opted for a taxi ride back up the hill. We spent Christmas Day on our own enjoying our full Christmas lunch cooked in Bessy. On Boxing Day Mike & I wandered into town (in the rain) for lunch and again got a taxi back up (by this time the rain was torrential!). We spent the afternoon and early evening with our friends in their camper. The next day we were all able to escape as it was dry so we spent the day (our last full one) in town, walking around and then had a lovely meal in the Seafood Café. A great time was had by all, regardless of the weather!
