Christmas 2017 - Uphill, near Weston-Super-Mare

After an eventful 4 days in beautiful St Ives we were soon on the road again.  We had pre-booked a small site, within a boatyard, just outside Weston-Super-Mare.  Having never stayed on this site before we really didn't know what to expect.  On arrival you drive through a boatyard and then into the campsite.  It's small but perfectly formed and the views are stunning.  We were very lucky with the weather for our 2 nights here, glorious blue skies both days, rain overnight (who cares?!) but still very windy.

The site is set within a local nature reserve which I enjoyed because of the wildlife.  I spent hours sat inside Bessy just watching the birds.

We walked into Weston on our first day, straight from the site.  It was an easy, flat 40 minute stroll along the beach.  The second day we did the same but almost got blown away.  We took the more sheltered inland route back that day!

We also walked around part of the nature reserve where we saw a guy working a peregrine falcon.  It was amazing.  There is a lot more for us to explore at Uphill and we hope to be back at some point this year to do it all again.  We cannot recommend this site highly enough.  We loved it.
