First Big Trip of 2018 - Broadway, Cotswolds - Steam Train

Wow, what a gorgeous month most of May turned out to be and after a fantastic early bank holiday weekend we were soon off again, this time for 9 nights/10 days, our first 'big trip' of 2018.

We had stayed in Broadway, in the Cotswolds, many times before but had planned this trip around the steam train that had been extended to Broadway and opened in March 2018.

We arrived on the Friday afternoon and spent the afternoon wandering around the pretty village, just a short walk from the site, and then on site where we enjoyed listening to the aforementioned steam train passing the site.  We also enjoyed a BBQ sat outside Bessy that evening in the very warm sunshine.

We had been online a few weeks before our trip to book tickets for the steam train and had planned to meet up and spend the day with some friends who live nearby.  As pure luck would have it, it was the annual steam and ale festival, which meant there were tents on two of the stations between Broadway and Cheltenham.  All I can say is that a great day was had by all both on and off the train.

That evening we enjoyed fish and chips on site watching the FA Cup final.
