After an early night Monday night we both woke up pretty stiff and sore from our bike ride so decided to have a short wander around the grounds of Chirk Castle, just a few 100 yards from our campsite. The Castle is owned by the National Trust. Entry to the grounds are free. It was a bit overcast but it didn't bother us. Our short wander turned out to be a 6-mile walk that day, it certainly freed up our bones!!!
The factory in the background is a Cadbury/Kraft Foods chocolate factory. When the wind was blowing in the right direction you could clearly smell hot chocolate in the air. That coupled with the smell of wild garlic was strangely pleasant to wake up to each morning in Chirk!
