South Wales - May 2013 - Llandovery

Thursday morning was pack up time again and we were soon on our way to Llandovery, a lovely old fashioned drovers town in the middle of the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside.  We stayed on a small, family run campsite and were one of only a few 'tourers' that night.  It soon changed on the Friday when the hoards of half term holidaymakers turned up!!

On arrival we had some lunch and then a wander into the town, where we came across the castle ruins, a very spooky metal 'knight' and a memorial to the drovers.  The town was also full of small independent shops, cafes, tearooms and friendly pubs.  Our sort of place.  We had another wander into town later that evening and enjoyed a pint or two before picking up an Indian takeaway from the local restaurant - which we would highly recommend!
