For the middle of June the site was very busy but we bagged ourselves a lovely riverside, grass pitch at the far end which was much quieter. We didn't arrive until 5.30pm so pitched up and walked to the pub on the beach (right outside the campsite), where we came across our friends from Barnstaple who'd spookily decided to do the same last minute trip! After a brief catch up with them we walked into Newquay for a meal. Once back on site we spent the rest of the balmy evening sat outside our friends motorhome having a proper catch up.
On Saturday the weather was still glorious, but very hot and humid. We walked into Newquay again, had a picnic lunch sat overlooking the harbour and beach and then walked back to chill out on site in the sunshine. That evening we met up with our friends again for a meal in the pub.
Sadly the weekend was over far too quickly and on Sunday morning it was time to pack up and go home.
The best trips are always the unplanned, unexpected ones especially when the weather is so good. I'm not expecting another one between now and the end of June but never say never!!!

I don't blame you for going away on the last minute, the weather has been so glorious hasn't it? I got back last night from five days on Anglesey, it should have been much longer but circumstances prevented me from going earlier - and I've come back with a great tan just through walking the dogs and exploring :)
