Chirk - May 2014 - Llangollen and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct

The sun was shining again for us on Sunday morning so after bacon sarnies for breakfast, shared with the squirrel, we set the bikes up for our day out biking along the Llangollen canal and back, past the stunning Pontcysyllte aqueduct.  There was NO WAY I could walk over it, so we took the long way around and across the stunning River Dee and along the canal to Llangollen!

Unfortunately I had a problem with my bike at Trevor Basin but thanks to a very helpful boatyard owner, Mike and some cable ties it was soon fixed and we were on our way to Llangollen, where it was packed full of people enjoying the very warm sunshine.  We had our lunch sat outside our favourite tearoom in Llangollen overlooking the river and railway station before heading back to the campsite along the canal.

It was a fantastic day, topped off with a great meal at Chirk Tandoori that evening.
