Winter in St Ives - February 2013 - St Ives Coastal Path

After another wild and windy night Saturday morning was glorious and although still very windy you could actually feel some warmth from the sun in sheltered areas!!!

We all had breakfast and got into our walking boots ready for a 2 hour walk along the coastal path from the site.

Although it was very muddy in places (up to our ankles at some points!) the views made up for the terrain.

Again the afternoon was spent with Paddy chilling out in the camper before heading into St Ives for the evening.  Sadly on Sunday morning it was time to pack up and head back home.  However, we will be back in St Ives again at Christmas as we've already booked our pitch!!

We are now planning our March trip so watch this space!!!

Winter in St Ives - February 2013 - Harbour

On arrival in St Ives we had a wander around the habour and town before heading to a coffee shop to warm up.  It had great views over the harbour.

We spent the rest of the afternoon in the camper before heading back into St Ives in the evening for a meal and a few (!) drinks with our friends.  I am happy to confirm a good time was had by all and no sign of any hangovers the next morning!!!

Winter in St Ives - February 2013 - St Ives Beaches

After a quick brew and bite to eat we all togged up in warm clothing and wandered into St Ives.  We took the 'long route' via Porthmeor beach, the coastguards look-out station and Porthgwidden beach.

Winter in St Ives - February 2013 - Ayr Holiday Park

After what felt like a long, hard January (as they do!) we managed to get away for a lovely long weekend in early February.  Our camping friends hadn't tried Ayr Holiday Park, St Ives so just 6 weeks after spending a wonderful Christmas on site we headed back down the A39 (Atlantic Highway!) for 2 nights.

The wind was pretty wild and believe me the camper was rocking up on that headland but it all adds to the fun!!!

We both arrived shortly after 10:30am (nice early arrival time at Ayr!) and pitched up on the lovely big hardstandings with views that are truly unbeatable!
