Polruan to Fowey

On arrival in Bodinnick we went to the pub right on the quay for a very well earned pint, whilst waiting for the water taxi to take us over to Fowey.  It's a very popular service and only takes 12 passengers at a time so we had a long wait.

Once off the boat we had a short walk around Fowey, which was really busy.  We were all hungry by then so found a lovely little restaurant offering beer battered fish and chips.

After our meal we found another pub, where we had a pint sat outside, overlooking the water ,where we watched the world go by before walking round to the car ferry and taking it back across to Bodinnick as foot passengers.  From there it was a very steep climb back up the hill to the campsite.  We were all shattered when we got back so had the evening to ourselves relaxing.

All too soon it was Sunday morning and time to head home from another great trip.

Our next booked trip in Bessy is Christmas, when we will be enjoying the delights of St Ives again this year, after having a break from it last year.

The Hall Walk - Bodinnick to Polruan

On Saturday morning our friends cooked up a fantastic full English breakfast, that we all enjoyed in their motorhome, to set us up for the day and prepare us for a long walk.

The Hall Walk is a 4-mile walk from Bodinnick to Polruan through a wooded valley that follows the river Fowey.  It crosses the river at Pont a tiny hamlet at the head of the estuary.  It's a bit up and down but well worth it for all the stunning views and at this time of year the colours were wonderful.
