September 2015 - Bridport

Our September holiday always seems a long time coming but finally it arrived and so did the summer.....perfect timing!

For our first 2 nights we had booked Bingham Grange a fantastic adults only site just outside the Dorset town of Bridport.  We had friends (fellow Auto Trailers!) staying too so had a very social weekend.

On Friday evening we all enjoyed a meal in the on-site restaurant and really good it was too.

On Saturday we all caught the bus (from right outside the site entrance) into Bridport.  It was their annual Hat Festival and there were plenty of local characters around wearing all sorts of unusual hats.  Everyone seemed to be getting involved.  After coffee in town we all walked to West Bay (or Broadchurch if you prefer?!) where we enjoyed a chippy lunch sat overlooking the harbour (under the gaze of a few hungry seagulls!).  After a wander around West Bay we walked back to Bridport to catch the bus back to the site.  That evening we got a taxi to/from a lovely local pub that our friends knew about.  It was a tiny little place in the middle of nowhere, or so it seemed when the taxi driver was flying down the country lanes!!!
