New Forest - Brockenhurst - July 2011

Monday was glorious when we got up so another biking day for us.  Paddy attracted a lot of attention from campers on site in his trailer, but at Black Knowl he was one of 4 dogs with bike trailers.  Thankfully Paddy loves his trailer and just jumps in it when he's told.  It means that we can get out and about further afield whilst we are away and we love it.

The bikes trails within the forest start right outside the campsite and are all mainly flat - perfect!

New Forest - Brockenhurst - July 2011

Only too soon it was Sunday morning and we were all packing up to leave Bransgore, our friends were heading home to Berkshire and we were moving on further into the forest to Brockenhurst and the Black Knowl CC site.

On arrival, we set up and then had visitors to the site.  My Dad, Step-Mum, Nan & Grandad came to look around Daisy before heading to a local hotel for Sunday lunch together.

When we got back, Michael decided to build up Paddy's trailer again so that we could bike into Brockenhurst, where we sat outside the pub enjoying a pint in the glorious sunshine.

New Forest - Bransgore - July 2011

We returned to the campsite at Bransgore via the forest through Holmsley.  Some of the tracks were slightly uphill so a bit hard going for Michael with Paddy on the back so it was time to get off and push!!!

We spent the evening sat outside with our friends talking about our days biking!

New Forest - Burley - July 2011

Our first stop was the pretty little village of Burley - famous for witchcraft.  We had a half hour stop here for a wander around the gift shops, a much needed drink and ice creams.

Whilst in Burley we also visited the cider farm (well it would have been rude not to!) where I picked up some supplies for that evening.

New Forest - Bransgore - July 2011

On Saturday morning, after a hearty breakfast, Michael built up Paddy's trailer, attached it to his bike, and we met up with our friends so that we could all go off out on our bikes for the day.

On leaving the site you're in the forest immediately.  Nice quiet roads and newborn foals everywhere!

New Forest - Bransgore - July 2011

With the indifferent weather we all seemed to have suffered again this summer we had visions of mud and wellies for our week in and around the New Forest in Hampshire but true to form the day we left home for our journey to Bransgore the sun came out and we were lucky all week!

We arrived at Bransgore CC site early afternoon and found a nice quiet pitch.  Our caravan friends arrived later that afternoon so we spent the evening catching up with them.

Back in Dartmouth

On arrival back in Kingswear we caught the lower ferry back across to Dartmouth and had a final wander around before catching the bus back up to the campsite for the evening.

Although the weekend was mainly wet it didn't stop us having a good time away again.

We now have a 3 week wait for our next trip - a week in the beautiful (dry please!) New Forest in Hampshire.
