After a lovely few days on site at Briarfields it was time to pack up and head a bit further north to the beautiful Cotswold village of Broadway where we had booked a pitch for 2 nights on the CC site.
On arrival we pitched up and waited for our friends (who live in the area). We spent the whole day with them in Broadway, had lunch in one of the three locals we visited, and then sat outside Bessy in the evening having a chippy tea celebrating our 50th birthdays (3 of us anyway!).
The next morning we were up early again to catch the bus into Evesham, where we walked through the beautiful Abbey Park Gardens, had a boat trip on the river and a picnic lunch sat alongside the river before heading back into Broadway where we spent the afternoon mooching. It was much quieter in the village on the Monday than it had been on Sunday. We had a BBQ sat outside Bessy that evening on site and enjoyed the glorious weather!
Next morning we were up bright and early to catch the bus (bus stop right outside the campsite) into Gloucester. A bargain £5 each for all day bus travel to/from both Cheltenham & Gloucester and a bus every 10 minutes!
On arrival in Gloucester we headed for Gloucester Quays, an area that had recently been regenerated. We had lunch in a pub, sat outside overlooking the boats coming and going before walking through the city to the cathedral.
On return to the site, we had a brew and then headed off on the next bus into Cheltenham for a few drinks that evening.
