Wild Wales Tour 2012 - First Stop Malvern

At last, it was time for our 2 week mini tour of Wales.  It had been planned and booked for months and after all the dramas of the year so far we were all really looking forward to getting away.

We left home early on Friday morning, only to hit major traffic on the A39 just outside Barnstaple due to a serious accident.  After sitting on the A39 for almost an hour we managed to detour off via Great Torrington, Umberleigh and South Molton - it was a bit of a trek on fairly small roads but at least we were moving!!!  After re-fuelling at Tiverton we stopped off at the services on the M5 for lunch.  The M5 was pretty slow moving all the way up to our first stop just outside Malvern.  We arrived mid afternoon, pitched up and walked Paddy before spending the evening in with fish & chips courtesy of the campsite waggon!!!

We stayed on the Caravan Club site, Blackmore, near Malvern.  It's a lovely site, nice big pitches and it has a great dog walk (our pitch was right by the entrance to the dog walk to save Paddy's old bones!).  There were stunning views of the Malvern Hills from the site but sadly it was cloudy during our 2 night stay so we never saw them in their full glory!
